How to Test Your Car's Battery

If you are noticing issues with your lights dimming when you start up the car or your car's lights seem to change in brightness when you rev the engine, you may be having an issue with your car battery failing. It's important to check your car battery at least twice per year. For areas that experience extremely cold or hot temperatures, performing a battery check is even more vital as batteries tend to lose their charge in cold weather.

You can use a multimeter at home to check your battery easily. Multimeters can be purchased at most stores with an automotive department, or you can get one for free from most service departments. Having a meter at home is beneficial if you ever notice a problem with your vehicle that you want to resolve right away.

If you think you have a battery problem, then you can get it replaced at Reed Chevrolet.
