Save Gas, Save Money

Improving your gas mileage should be one of the things at the top your list if you're trying to save money. The national average for gas prices is over $2.00 so saving money on gas allows you to save more money in your pocket. Improving fuel economy just takes a few easy steps. They include:

  • Don't waste fuel by speeding. If you're on the highway driving 60 miles per hour as opposed to 70 mph will save you about 2-4 miles per gallon.
  • Don't leave your car in idle for longer than 30 seconds. If you are going to be sitting for awhile turn your car off.
  • Ride with your windows up whenever possible. Riding with the windows down creates drag that will cause the engine to work harder and use more gas.
  • Keep your vehicle well maintained by checking tire pressure, changing clogged air filters, and using the right type of motor oil.
