Helpful Hints on Valuing Your Trade

Here at Reed Chevrolet, we enjoy selling new, pre-owned and certified pre-owned vehicles. But we know that sometimes, to get the car you want, first, you need to trade in your current car, truck, van, or SUV. That is why we’ve compiled a list of handy tips for you to figure out how to know what your current vehicle might be worth. Once you do that, it will be easier to find out how much new car you can afford.

You can use our trade-in tool, above. You also can talk to our used-car manager, who may be able to provide in-person advice or deals to you

Try not to spend too much money fixing your car. You may not get it back. If this is the case, you could stand to lose much more than you gain. Dealers aren’t often convinced to pay more, in part because they don’t know the condition your car was in before.

Don’t wash your car. If you do, it likely won’t add much if any value to your car.

We hope you’ve benefitted from getting an “inside-the-industry scoop” on trading in your car, and we hope to see you when you need a new Chevrolet vehicle, regardless of whether or not you trade-in your old one. We are happy to show you Chevy Silverado or Colorado pickups, Equinox SUVs, Corvette sports cars, and more.
